Does anyone know of a Big Brake kit? I have look around and so far haven't come across any.

I think our brakes are the same as the Rams. If that is true, Stainless Steel Brakes sells the following front brake upgrade. Not cheap and required 18" or larger wheels. I would guess that there are others out there as well.
Dodge - Ram 1500 (4WD) - 2004
Front Force 10 4-Piston Aluminum Caliper Disc Brake Kit
Disc brake kit with Force 10 Extreme 4-Piston Aluminum calipers and 14" rotors.
Much appreciated, I was hoping Baer would make them, Man their website is not very user friendly.

Out of curiosity, what do you need bigger brakes for anyway? I only ask because the stockers seem to be the biggest that I have seen on a mid-fullsize SUV already. I would think some better pads and stainless brake lines would cure most fade.

The easiest explanation to your question is to go to Baer.com. Baer website explains it very well, when increasing the size of your Wheels, the rolling mass increases and you actually increase your braking distance, not a good thing!
I have read this in Road and track, etc as well.

This is true but have you weighed the wheels to verify the actual increase? As long as the outside diameter is the same then the wheel height doesnt change and the only change is the weight but if you go with an aftermarket wheel sometimes its lighter than the stocker. When I switched from my stock 16" wheels on my Formula to polished aluminum 17's, I actually lightened the load and rotating mass. So just because you go a size bigger doesnt necessarily mean heavier.

i'd seriously like to revisit this topic....EVERYWHERE i go...on tv or in magazines they say anytime you go to a larger wheel/tire setup you should upgrade your brakes also...i went to a 20" setup which undoubtedly increased my rolling mass by several pounds...i would LOVE a sweet Brembo or Baer setup...you know slotted/vented rotors...nice multi piston calipers, etc...
i woud definitely feel safer with upgraded brakes, i know our D's come stock w/ huge brakes by stock standards but you know we are all obsessive so why not!!

These brakes were designed with the 20" wheels on the Ram in mind. The Ram is just as heavy if not more.
That all said, larger brakes are always sweet.

Now, I emailed SSBC, Baer, Wilwood, and "disc brakes for less", and no one has anything. No one even mentioned Ram brakes working. The folks at Baer did say they know the Durangos have a braking problem, but are not sure if they are going to make a kit yet. The second thing I did after buying the Durango was hit up all the brake folks to see what they had, or if they had anything in development. For now we are out of luck I suppose, unless one of us experiments on our own D.

I have read in a number of places that Dodge stole the brakes for our Durango from the Ram. For what is it worth, according to carparts.com the Ram and the Durango use the same pads.

rockauto.com sells the raybestos OEM style rotors for a mere $26.79, thats cheap and they make the best brake pads, calipers and rotors IMHO. RockAuto also sells the Akebono ceramic pads (ACT898 rear, ACT966 front) for the 04 Durnago for $61.79 and $73.79 respectively. This cost compares to the Raybestos PG plus pads at $37.79 and $41.79 for rear/front pads listed on rockauto.com. Cheap, but not free, shipping also.
