Hi All...!!!,
I have a 2000 Stratus ES and my problem is that the blower does not have any medium speeds. I can only have the A/C on full blast or off. Nothing in between. I believe that I need to replace the components on the board that is behind the knobs. Am I on the right track?

N/M.. I found it.. I am sorry.. I was calling it something else and other posts had the same problem. Sorry!!

Actually it is the blower motor resistor. All the medium speeds have a fuse, but on high speed, the fuse is bypassed. I don't know why Dodge does it this way since the feed is also fuse protected at the main panel. Anyway, if you replace the resistor block (~$20 for the part), and it goes out again, you need a blower motor.

The resistor block is easy to replace. If you need it, I can post diagrams, pictures, schematics and/or procedures. Let me know.

I have an 02, so I don't know off the top of my head. Let me look in my shop manual tonight and see if I can find something more descriptive for you.

it is not a resistor it is a thermal fuse. it is meant to blow if the coils around it get too hot. there is a wire harnes under the glove compartment. there are two screws holding it in. you will need to remove a plastic cover under the glove compartment to see it. take the two screws out where the wire harness goes in and the coil block will drop right out. go to radio shack and get a new thermal fuse. the stock unit is about 110C get a little higher temp fuse. or you can simply bypass it and hope it does not cause a fire

No for sure. the motor has a resistor that controls the speed other than high. I have just replaced mine.

Hi all.. I just found out some interesting stuff. My father took the resistor block to the local electronic store and replaced the resistor with an "NTE8115." Guess what.. it works!!! So instead of paying 20 bucks, go to an electronic store and get this part for about $1.25!!!

Just to confirm, the part number for the NTE8115 does work, i replaced it, cost was .99 cents, and about 15 minutes worth of work, when i asked the dealer for a price it was $32 in houston texas, i was like maybe i'll try this part and sure enough it worked great, thanks for saving me. $31.00.

Dealer in Maplewood, NJ tells me the resistor of the blower motor was $160. Thanks for saving me a boatload of cash. This is worth the try for my 03.
