Has anyone heard about or had braking problems with their 1998 dodge turbo cummins dsl. D-2500 trucks. I had an accident because I could not get the darn thing stopped. The brakes just got really hard to push. I got a recall notice on the truck about the brakes and I am only concered that the accident may have been avoided. :SHK:

I know the truck is heavy, and requires a little more stopping distance than a car, but I haven't had any problems really with the brakes on my '01. I just turned 74,000 miles the other day, and I am still on my original brakes all the way around. Never had any problems with them feeling hard. I know this may not be a lot of help in your problem, but there may be something wrong with the brakes on your particular truck. Have you had it diagnosed at all? I don't know if it is a common or recurring problem with other diesel Rams or not....

I too own a 2001 dodge turbo cummins cuad. It runs and breaks fine with over 154,000 miles. In fact I have never felt as though I would not be able to stop the truck. My concern is strickly with the 98. The recall notice was only for 1998 3/4 ton cummins. I did in fact try to have it diagnosed and was told nothing was wrong with the truck. I was not told other wise until the fateful recall.
