Alright I'm going to be buying the car around December/January, so the prices will have dropped some by then. So, here are the pros and cons of each car:
SRT-4
Pros:
-Looks very fast
-Is very fast and fun to drive
-Much more unique than a Mustang
-You can laugh at other Neons (except for those that have put a lot of money in them)
Cons:
-It's a rather new car, so prices haven't gone down too far yet (saw one with 29k miles for only $15k... I wanted to buy it so bad but my parents can't do it financially yet).
Mustang GT Convertible
Pros:
-Classic All-American car
-Been a dream of mine to have a 'Stang for a long time
-Is very fast
-Convertibles = more chicks
Cons:
-It's a convertible which makes driving in worse conditions a lot harder than with a normal coupe or something (smaller rear window, harder to check blind spots, etc.).
-There's so many of them! It looks good but when you see one every five minutes it sort of sucks the fun out of it.
So which do you think I should go for? I know the Mustang will get me more chicks at school, but I don't think they would laugh at an SRT-4 or anything either. The only chick-pulling problem the SRT-4 has is that it sort of looks like a ricer, while the Mustang is much more masculine and muscle-like.

I'm 16 and bought a SRT-4, chicks like my car more than another kid who use to have a mustang. I dunno if it is the color or what, or maybe the exhaust.
If you get either car you MUST be very very careful driving and you have to learn to blow off all your immature friends that want to drag. Racing or speeding to show off is a big mistake and can cost your jail time and maybe even your life. Just be responsible.

Trust me, I never speed, I never race, and I don't listen to what my friends say while they're in the car (if it's anything like "beat that guy" or "hey there's no one around let's do 100" etc). I see where you're coming from though, and I just realized how you easily got that view from my post. When I meant the cars were fast, I meant that they were fast. I didn't, however, mean that I was going to drive them that fast. My sister would be much worse in one of the two cars (she's very aggressive and speeds in neighborhoods and such), but that's a whole different story.
Plus I've been driving a freaking 92 Dodge Shadow... Do you know how slow one of those things are? I've gotten so used to that that I don't need to drive fast or recklessly to "have fun", so being able to accelerate 0-45 faster than 20 seconds is a blessing for me, I don't need to do it in like 4 seconds or anything.
Once again, I definitely see where you're coming from, but I'm not that type of teenager that is very reckless and immature about his car (plus I don't drink so I won't ever be in a "drinking and driving" situation while that holds true). :D
Now you're probably wondering, why does this kid want a fast car if he's not going to drive fast? Well, for one, I'm a car fanatic and I've been one ever since I was a kid, and there's just something about fast cars that I like... They just seem more aggressive and it helps with the overall look of things. Second of all, a few years from now I'll probably have the same car and I'll be taking a trip up to the Salt Flats or whatever it's called in Utah, and hopefully I can go a little more wild with the accelerator there (although some crazy tire and suspension upgrades are going to be needed as well as more careful accelerating and steering so I don't lose control of the car at 100mph).
By the way, this is just an odd sort of off-topic question: why do you look down upon teenagers getting fast cars (well I can definitely see your standpoint, but not everyone is like that... there are still good, smart, and careful teenage drivers) when, on this very forum, people 18+ have said they've been doing 100+ on the highway at night with no lights on, as well as racing people at almost 100mph speeds from the stop lights? In my opinion, that is a far more irresponsible thing to be doing than just buying a car that you have no intention of using the wrong way.
Oh and I pay for my own gas as well as some of the car, so I have to stay in the $16,000 price range, and I can easily get either car for that much by January (I've already seen SRT-4's that are used for $15,000).
Well I figure it's time to end my rant... Adios.

I was just playing... I'm not going to laugh at any other car (unless it's like a tricked out Ford Crown Victoria... Now that's just wrong). The reason I said Neons is because the SRT-4 really is a more powerful, better handling Neon (oh and it looks better too). ;)
