1995 3.0 V-6 Caravan
When going down the road the engine starts to miss ... it lopes bad, in nuetral, drive or park and at idle rpm. If you start the engine with cruise on it runs smooth ... until you hit the brakes ... it dies. If you were to leave cruise on then turn it off it starts to miss again. I've checked for vacuum leaks, fuses and shorts. Also recently had the fuel pump replaced. The mechanic at our usual place of "fix what I can't" says he thinks its the computer. It is somewhat intermitten ... as usual when you try to show someone it doesn't do it for a few seconds but eventually does again.

Forgot to mention that we also had the tranny replaced about 3 months ago. Mechanic says its throwing a cam error but were getting spark. PCM / ECM problem?
Ground issues?

Any ideas? How / where are the ecm / pcm located? Grounds?

Could the cruise control be acting as a ground for the rest of the ecm/pcm system? The reason why it smooths out while in cruise .... but why the vac prob when you step on the brakes (engine dies)?

Okay ... this is getting wierder. Started it up tonight aftr work and it ran fine. Drove about three miles no problem but I bet when I get up tomorrow it will give me grief. I did absolutley nothing but let it sit all day.
