Just picked up our Durango yesterday and don't get the manuals until tomorrow or Monday. Right now we have the child seat strapped in using the center seat belt. Can anyone tell me if there are center latch anchors? We can't see any and were wondering if the center was supposed to also use the the inside anchors for the two sides or if using the center seat belt is the proper way to mount the seat in center position.

Problem with the center seat belt is it pushes the seat a couple of inches to one side, making the small side very tight.

Thanks

If I remember correctly, the center anchor is directly behind the center seat on the floor.

I did some looking and the car seat anchor is actually on the back side of the bottom seat cushion on all three of the middle seats. It's a chrome anchor that sticks out. As a side note, and I'm not trying to preach or harp, but, unless you have side curtain air bags, the safest place for a car seat is NOT in the middle seat. Studies have shown that the middle position can be potentially(sp?) dangerous in the event of a head on crash. If something where to pierce the windshield in the middle, there is nothing there between the windshield and the car seat. If the car seat is placed behind the driver seat an object(i.e. a 2x4) would have to penetrate the windshield, steering wheel, driver, and the seat before getting to the child. I know it's kind of morbid to think of it in that way, but... Personally, in that situation I would much rather the 2x4 get me and spare my child. Just my $.02.
