I need to change out the flasher on my 92 Cummins 250(225k miles and still going strong).
After looking in the Chiltons book for dodge trucks they say that it is behind the glove box which maybe the case for the dakota or ramcharger but not on my pickup. I have looked there and under the dashboard. Any help in locating where the replacement flasher would go would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching the web but have found nothing.
Thanks in advance

drpepper123,
I copied this post over to the first generation trucks category as well to see if anyone might see it there and comment on it.
Welcome to our board. I hope that you will find it a useful source of information and also a fun place to visit.
I am not sure where the flasher is on your truck. Does either of the turn signals flash at all? If so, turn one on and try listening to the clicking noise. When you find the source of the noise, there will be the flasher. On my '78 Ram, the flashers are right behind the glove box. All I had to do was remove the plastic liner in the glove box and they were right there. I am assuming that you opened your glove box and removed the inside liner and looked behind it that way.... correct?
I hope that yor are able to fix this problem.

The flasher on your truck is under the left side of the dash to the
left of the steering collum. It is tucked quite a way up in there and
is not clearly visable. If it will work at all it is a big help, but if not you
should be able to find it with a little patience. On my 93 it was a
square one as opposed to the old round 175 that they used on
the first generation "Life Style" (72-80). Those were the ones under
the glove box. When they redesigned the dash they moved the
fuses and the flasher to the left. There is not much room to get
under there to see what you are doing so I hope you are not too
big or else use a mirror to see under there.

The easiest way to change the flasher for the unfamiliar is to remove the 4 phillips screws holding the lower dash panel on directly under the steering column. The fuse block is attached to this by a snap in pressure fit. Trace the wiring harness back a little bit and you should find the factory turn signal flasher taped to the harness(light blue plastic if original).
