Hey everybody. I have a 1997 Grand Caravan with about 67,000 miles on it. I have been told that both of my oxygen sensors have burned out and need to be replaced. The garage wants about $400 to do the job. However, I checked the parts and they are only about $110 for the both of them (front and rear oxygen sensors). I have been told by a mechanic that I could probably replace them myself. I would like to know if anyone has a manuel showing how to do this, or could give me instructions on how to do these replacements. I would appreciate any help. I live in Port Hueneme, California (in Ventura County).

I may be too late. . .
Sears has a tool for O2 Sensor removal and installation. It is in their special tools section - not with their regular Sockets. All it is, is a 7/8" socket with a groove cut down the side to make way for the wires. It costs $9.99 and is well worth it. It attaches to a standard 3/8" rachet. You may need to jack up the vehicle and use a pipe on the handle of the rachet for additional leverage. Mine was so tight, I had to Tap the Rachet with a hammer as I was pulling on it. I broke the rachet - Thank god for Craftsman lifetime unconditional guarantee!!!

My O2 Sensor is behind the Catalytic converter. I saw what looked like another O2 sensor while changing spark plugs. I may need to replace that one too. It back behind the engine, on the Exhaust pipe.
Good luck
