Need some help! About a month ago I drove about 150 miles on i95 -- and when I stopped for gas - after starting up again the check engine light came on. The attendant had probelsm putting gas in -- the pump stopped about 10 times. Drove home teh rets of teh way - no issue. Told my mechanic and he said to drive it it may go out - and it did. In a week it came back on. Aftwards I then started to notice that the transmission wouldnt shift and was starting off in 4th - you would have to floor it to move the car. Manual shifting did no good -- 4th.

I took it in - ran the scan - and came up with a few codes. One was pointing to the trans and the other the gas tank pressure sensor or whatever.. The mechanic replaced a solenoid in trans -- no help -- he then replaced all 3- no help. The dealer was brought in -- they scanned the car and came up with another code and said the computer needed to be repplaced -- replaced and reprogrammed - same problem. So -- the car was in the shop for 2 weeks and I picked it up yesterday with the sam eproblem as I took it in - check engine light on -- and -- the car having very little power at take off - and not shifting.

The dealer said they are stumped -- they want to replace one more part - the connector on teh trans wiring harness -- i may need to replace the whole harness.

Anyone have any ideas? the D is using tons of gas and not shifting - hesitates lots upon takeoff/acceleration.

THANKS!

damn that sucks. the dealer can't even figure it out. most shift problems are sensor related, but yours sound a lot different. did they change the speed sensor? are you getting any other codes? is your speedometer still working below 25MPH? the surge'n usually is the TPS sensor (throttle body sensor) good luck
