I am still waiting for my Nav System to come in. I ordered it when i ordered the car. Car came in with no nav, so dealer ordered it. My question is...Does the Nav System play DVD's. The sales guy at Hendrick Dodge in Cary NC told me that YES it does, but as long as the car is in park.
The literature also says that it plays DVDs.
Just wondering if anyone knows the real deal.
Thanks,
Mel

No it does not play dvd's. It only has a dvd drive to access the mapping data, otherwise it would take about 6 cd's and who wants to swap cd's going down the road. There is a mis print or error in the literature. At least that is what I have been told by people with the nav in their vehicle. Mine should be here in a couple of weeks.
There is a company that upgrades the nav systems to play dvd's but you have to send the unit into them and wait for them to modify it. I believe the web site is NavTV (http://www.navtv.com) .
There is a rumored add on that won't be available until feb at the earliest that would allow a tv display to be added so the rear seat passengers could watch and use the DVD player in the nav unit, but that does not seem pratical to me.
