has anyone else had mopar rear seat dvd system installed by dealer? i'm currently getting a 6 cd/dvd system installed on my 05 gc w/out sunroof. the dealer has already installed 2 different players (they only stock 1 at a time) and both players have had the same infant mortality problem. after installation, they put a disc in to test it and the disc gets stuck. they actually have to open up the player and pry the disc to get it out. each time involves another full day that i have to drop the vehicle off at the dealer. seems either mopar has quality control problems, or dealer is not installing it properly ...

I bought mine with the factory installed rail system with 6 disk DVD player and 7 inch LCD wide screen. Have had no problems with the DVD player since I purchaced 4 months ago.

BTW:Its a 2005 SXT.

bluer101, the dvd system the dealer is installing is factory spec 7" LCD overhead screen with 6 cd/dvd changer, 2 wireless headphones & a wireless remote, exactly like what you have except that it's dealer and not factory installed. i have a 2005 grand caravan SE with no overhead rail system. every component seems to work except the cd/dvd changer eats up discs and locks up. i'm just frustrated that brand new out-of-the box units would fail and fail in the same manner.

Yea, it makes no sence. Let us know what happens again.

BTW: When I bought my van they had a lower model that did not have the DVD system and they tried to sell me the van and have the dealer install the system. I told them no and bought the van at another dealer. I wanted everything installed by the factory, not saying the the factory can't mess up. Plus I really like all the other stuff that came with the loaded model better and the rail system storage. :D

4 separate trips to the dealer and 5 days with a loaner '04 Durango later, it's finally resolved! The DVD entertainment system is now up and running and it's awesome!

So did they tell you why it was doing it? Yea, the DVD system is great, nice picture quality. Just there is no adjustments for color, tint, contrast, and hue. Just brightness.

They couldn't explain the problem and neither could Chrysler people at Michigan. What they ended up doing was testing a complete system (harnesses, player & display) at Chrysler and then shipping it to the dealer for installation.
