I am looking at getting something a little large with an enclosed cargo area and selling my Mustang. The Nitro has come on my radar.

General feeling on them? What to look for? I am going on the "cheap" end and looking at '07-08 SXT's with 4x4. :)

Also check out Jeep Liberty's...everything a Nitro is, but with a 2 speed xfer case...

Looked at Liberties, also increases the price tag by a noticeable amount.

Really??? You can get a low mileage 07 Sport 4x4 (think SXT equivalent) for under $15k...

Yes the Libs of the same years are 3-7k more for the same options in my area.

The woman and I are going to look at an 08 Nitro and 06 Lib today. Similar price tags under 13k.

Cool, let me know if you get the Liberty, I'll give you the link to my Lib forum...

We are leaning towards the Nitro. The Lib was tiny compared to the Nitro. I have to pull my indash Navi out of the GT anyway before I trade it in so I am thinking on it over the Sunday.

Well this whole forum is dead lol.

But we did buy an '08 Nitro SXT 4x4 with 32k on the clock for a song last nite. :)

I'm a big fan of the Nitro. I like the solid rear axle, very easy to work on, styling, cargo versatility (wow is the Nitro great for that!) Can you imagine: slide out rear cargo tray, folding front passenger seat- flat all the way to the dash, plus slide out the rear cargo tray too! I'm salivating all over myself, i want one! Cant get that combo of features anywhere. Since electric vehicles really arent viable yet- hybrids are way expensive and expensive to fix!- this is the best alternative!

We have an electric blue R/T and the only thing I don't like about it is that it just wouldn't look right with a lift and bigger tires. That and the cost of replacing the 20s.

What are the hp/tq numbers on the r/t? Is it supposed to be a farily quick car?

RT is 250 for horsepower and torque I think... :)
Should be around the same time as a Hemi Durango.

R/T's are nice, but I just don't need it with the increase in money. :)

I don't know about a Hemi D-go but I know for a fact that it'll take a Hemi Ram. I just wish they made a programmer for it because I know there's more in there. I've seen the chips & power plugs online but I don't know if they work or not.

IMHO those generic reprogramer chips/boxes don't do jack for a car or truck.

I love my Hemi in my truck and wouldn't want to put one of those generic things on however.
