I have a '94 Caravan that has a strange problem. It is hard to describe, but here goes.
It acts like the ignition is being cut off and on about 50 times a second. It jerks so bad that I had to back off the gas for fear of tearing the transmission up.I have it at the local garage where they say the computer is saying something about cam info. or the lack of it.They have had it for
a month and it still is not fixed.
The read out says something to the effect of not receiving cam info.I think
they mean destribitor info.Anybody else had a problem like this?I think I'm
going to go get it and work on it myself.Being there a month and it still is not
fixed is crazy.Help!!!!

Hmm. I have a 1994 Dodge Caravan, and I know that when my transmisson gave up I couldnt stop the car !! No kidding. It was like it blocked on a high gear and could gear down. I was hitting the brakes but the car was pushing so badly in order to move.

Anyway.Tell us how your car turned up. I wonder whats all the stuff the computer controls.

Sorry for the late reply. The Caravan is not the only car I have problems with.
Always something.
The van has been in the shop for 6 weeks and still is not fixed. The lastest
is that they think it is the main computer.I'm going to go get it next week and
bring it home.I'll try to fix it myself. One of the main problems is that they are not working on it.Everytime I go by the shop it is just sitting.Enough is enough.
Beware guys where you take your van. Most shops do not want to try and
find a problem anymore. All they want is the quick job and the quick money.

Thanks Rafboy for your reply.I'll keep everyone informed with what I find
so that it may help someone else if they ever have the same problem.Again,
be carefull where you take your vehicles to get it worked on.

Having exact same problem! See my thread too! Mech thinks it may be ground problem. Did you recently have any work done to it prior to new problem?

Thanks ruff for the reply.
Interesting about the ground problem.Yes,I had the same shop work on my
air conditioner several weeks before this problem showed up.One of the things
I was going to do when I get it home is check behind them.
I called today to go get the van but the shop wants to try a new computer.
They said they had one coming from a Dodge dealer. If that doesn't fix it,
then I'm going to go get it.I think it is the computer, but that ground problem
is something I will check. The problem started after I got a full tank of gas
and drove about 107 miles.I thought it might be fuel but it is hard to tell with
computer cars. Also, the shop said they tryed to start it friday but the fuel pump
would not come on.I think the computer is screwed up but you never know.
I still think they are not working on it.They are trying the "quick fix" and it is
going to take some trouble shooting.I have been wondering if some other
problems are made to show up after I get it worked on just to get more money.I'll keep you informed.Thanks.--Jim Alford
