Anybody know the trick to getting the clip that holds the front brake pads to the caliper off. I couldn't see how to easily get it off, and didn't want to force it for fear of breaking it. Any info would be appreciated.

As I recall, the clip doesn't come off. It's riveted to the pad. For the outboard ones, if you slip a screwdriver between the clip and the exterior of the caliper, it should be persuaded to slide off. For the inboard one, just yank it straight out of the cup in the end of the piston.

I gave you some bad advice. I was thinking of the 96-00 models. Yours are different. Sorry, you're on your own.
