Im doing alot in the cab with the rewiring of the truck and its annoying with the shifter in the way. How do I go about removing the shifter off the top of my 435? I know I have seen it in the past, but I can't find it with the search. Thanks!

I always used a large set of water pump pliers set open to the width of the retainer. As stated push down and rotate. If memory serves me I believe it is counter-clockwise. It's only going to take about an 1/8 of a turn.

You can also use two large flat blade screw drivers as well.
