Can anyone recommend the right carb for me. I am restoring a 77 D-100. The 360 engine has been completely rebuilt & I have an Edelbrock Performer manifold. I will be driving mostly on the highways with a camper.

I was thinking of getting a four-barrel carb with 600 to 650 cfm, an electric choke, and vacuum secondaries. I have always been partial to the Holley line, but I have not bought one in many years. Holley has 4 models that seem to be close to what I am looking for. They are;

#0-80570 Street Avenger 4150 570 cfm
#0-80457S Traditional (Sq. Bowl) 600 cfm
#0-80783C Traditional (V-Bowl) 650 cfm
#0-80670 Street Avenger 4150 670 cfm

What are the advantages or differences of the Street Avenger series over the traditional line? What is the difference between a "Square Bowl" and a "V-Bowl" carb? Any input or experiences shared would be appreciated. Thanks.

Forget the Holley and go w/ an Eddy Performer.

if you go Avenger series which I highly do not recommend..go with the Truck Avenger. That being said I would go with a mod Qjet. If you do not have one of those then try the Edlebrock.

I have used hollies and edelbrocks,all out power go holley,for all around street go edelbrock.
They both have there advantages.

And another county heard from for Edelbrock.

Don't forget to order Edelbrock's Mopar throttle linkage adapter kit; you will need it. All of the Eddys come set-up for a Chevy linkage and must be adapted to Mopars.

Does it have 4bbl heads? They have larger ports and the edelbrock perforfer manifold will need to be opened up to take full advantage. The performer manifold chokes down so it can be used with small port 2bbl heads.
FYI: 4bbl heads use a fiber gasket and the ports are larger than 2"x 1", small port uses a metal gasket and the ports are less than 2"x1".

Dang, I just used 4bbl gaskets on my swirl-port heads then :O Oh well, shouldn't make a difference I guess.

It did come out of the factory with a 2-bbl carb. I never thought about the heads being different, but I drove it several years with a 4-bbl carb and never had any problems. Thanks guys for all the input. If anyone else wants to put in their 2 cents, please do. The more info I have the better.

My vote is the 500cfm Edelbrock performer with electric choke on the Eddy Performer intake. Very simple and easy to work with. Mine runs so well you'd think it was fuel injected if you didn't know. Cranks and runs smooth first time every time no matter how cold.

2nd choice would be a quadrajet.
