The aluminum wheels on my 93 Grand Caravan are shot - so I decided to get a set of wheels like I have on my 99 T&C - 17"

When I mounted the 17" wheels on the 93 - the front brake calipers touch the wheel - effectively immobilizing the vehicle.

Has anyone run into this problem? Do I have oversize brake calipers? The van DOES have ABS (although the ABS system gave up it's ghost a long time ago...) Would grinding down the calipers a bit help? Can I replace the calipers with a smaller design?

Help!

Thanks!

I don't know about on a street car, but on our oval-track stock car, we have ground edges off disc-brake calipers to clear wheels with no ill effects.

Anyone else have a dissent on this?
