Well......................
The inevitable occurred this evening. Its a funny story though.. I planned to finally put my old RAM out at the end of the driveway with a FOR SALE sign on it and then bring it back in tomorrow for a few hours to get some things fixed up on it (tighten the belts, put the spare tire back up underneath the bed, put the tailgate trim back on).
So I washed it, cleaned the windows, and vaccumed. I even printed out the entire maintenance record, specs sheet (with my asking price), and the KBB sheet too. Drove it to the end of the driveway, locked it, and walked back to the garage. I was rolling up the garden hose when a newer Chrysler New Yorker pulled in the driveway and a guy was checking it over really well. He waved, and I walked out to chat with him. The 2nd thing out of his mouth after his name was an offer. I counter-offered, and he accepted. Then he took it for a test drive. He paid with cash (sure looked like alot of cash...) We switched the plates, and he was gone.
The good news is that she went to a good home. He lives about a 1/4 mile down the street too. He drives an Over the road semi, so the RAM will get driven to work on Monday and home on Friday. Not alot of use, but enough to keep her functioning properly. I'm also happy because I was afraid it would go to someone who couldn't drive stick, and they would burn up the clutch or wreck it or something...
A sad day for me to see an old friend go, but to a good home.
But it only took about 20 minutes to sell. Quickest sale I've ever known of!!! :)
