Thats exciting exactly what I want well I want a 6" but exactly what I can afford. This will give a little more lift then the day star kit I put in right?

The rear shocks do not provide any lift at all, however the front adjustable strut cylinders give up to 2.8" of front lift. If your daystar kit gives less than 2.8" then yes, it will give more than your Daystar kit.

The only way you can use a spacer with this is if the strut is set to 0" of lift. Which would be useless to do because these are adjustable to 2.8"

This is just a leveling kit not a lift kit. If you set it to 2.8" then add a spacer then your A-arms will be at such an extreme angle you will wear all of your hardware out in no time.

It seems you have to remove the coils from the original shocks. I installed spacers originally and it thought that this setup was all one piece. Are the coils easy to remove for non-mechanic types? Any special tools needed?

Also, can the shocks be adjusted once installed as needed or do you set the height you need when installing and thats where they stay?

Thanks.

1)Yes, you do need a spring compressor to relieve the pressure from the spring hat.

2)The way these work is you set the desired ride height first and that's where they stay.

On a side note, the benefits for this option versus a spacer is exponentially better. The ride quality from Bilstiens superior design coupled with the convenience of the 0" - 2.8" adjustability makes this option a contender.

Do you need to have an alignment afterward with this setup? I'm thinking I just want to go with the front only. Do I need to do the rear lift also?

We highly recommend an alignment after the install. Even if you are 99% certain you did the install entirely correct, you will still need an alignment.

If you are trying to just level your vehicle then no, you would not need a rear lift.

Which option would you recommend, spacers or shocks just for leveling? I don't think I'll put on bigger tires in future. Thanks so far the info.

First off, if you are happy with your current ride quality then spacers are a cheaper and less time consuming option. These are on average a 1-2 hour install and would be perfect for a quick and easy level stance. Top Gun Customz offers a lifetime warranty on breakage on our leveling kits. You can find our 2.5" spacer here > 2.5" 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Front Strut Lift Spacers (http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/Gen2ProdDisplay.php?iview=249061884)

We also carry a front & rear lift kit found here > 2.5" 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Leveling Lift Spacer Kit (http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/Gen2ProdDisplay.php?iview=249062663)

If you would like a smoother ride and don't mind to take the extra time to have a better performing truck, then the Bilsteins are WELL worth your time and money. Like we said before, Bilsteins are an amazing brand and you NOT be disappointed with their products. You can find all three versions of this kit here > 09 Dodge Ram 1500 Bilstein Strut Leveling Kits (http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/products.php?S_ID=1485532)
