Not only are you gonna need a new engine but that 904 probably wont last long behind 500 ft. lbs. I would get either a 518 overdrive unit or an old style 727B 3 speed. The place that has 'one stop shopping' for motor mounts ,exhaust, brake boosters, cooling system parts, rear sump big block oiling systems, electrical, ect is www.bouchillonperformance.com another source for big block engine parts and motor mounts for trucks are www.440source.com

you will need a 727 tranny, the 904 will not bolt up.

Those numbers do not denote small or big block, they are versions of the TF and they made both versions for big and smallblocks. In fact many racers run 904's behind big blocks because they have less rotating mass.

However, big and small blocks do have different bellhousing patterns. While I don't think any 440 ever made 500 lbs-ft of torque from the factory, I would run a 727 trans. They are stronger stock vs stock over the 904. They are also easier to find than a BB 904.
