I know this should be a relatively simply answered question, but what is the simplest means of removing the harmonic balancer bolt?
I've been trying to get it off with just a ratchet, while having a little friend of mine try to hold the pulley, but to no avail. I have an air compressor...but I don't have an impact. :bawl:

Of course, if the bolt is reverse threaded, then this question is null and void as I would have been tightening it, all this time.

The bolt isn't reverse threaded.
I haven't done it and wouldn't unless have a helper. What I have heard is you can use a cheater pipe an a 1/2" or larger breaker bar agianst the frame and have a buddy bump the starter while you keep the wrench on.
Also remove the pulley first (6 bolts) so you don't need an extension that will cause extra side thrust on you socket.

If the truck is a stick shift you can put it in gear to keep the engine from turning. Or you can have someone jam the flywheel w/ something, like a screwdriver or something. I have broke them loose w/ just a 1/2" drive ratchet, but I guess I'm pretty stout :) You will need a 3-bolt puller too, to get the balancer off after removing the bolt.

Those are good suggestions. I was hoping to avoid removing the starter, but it appears that may be my next course of action.

Thank you both!
