I have an odd sound in my D, and wondered if anyone else has had this.
First, I have checked the forums using the search terms humm, transmission, tranny, and coast, but haven't located anything on this. also, this problem is not casuing any drive quality issues beyond the noise. Acceleration and ride are perfectly fine.During acceleration and braking, this noise does not occur.
Ok here is what my baby does. This noise is more noticeable the faster you are going.
1) Press down the accelerator, and then let off of it around 55 or 60 MPH, and there is a resonate humm in the truck until the speed drops below say 40 MPH or you hit the gas or brakes.
2) You can almost make the noise continuous by feathering the gas off and on at highway speed.
3) At first I thought it was the new tires, but the humm is not present during acceleration or braking, no matter how fast you are goin', so I am sure it isn't the tires.
Anyway, if someone has any ideas on this one, I'd love to hear them. I am not looking for trouble, but unusual noises bother me.
