Ok, My dad has a '99 Dakota, the 3.9 v6. He's had a problem with the Transmittion ever since about 1 year after he got it. When ever the truck warms up a bit the shifts start getting hard, and then sometimes it won't up shift unless you give it alot of gas, then it shifts but shifts hard. When it shifts hard you can hard hear a small clunk. When it is first started all is normal, shifts fine, but after about 15 minutes driving it does this. It's been taken to 2 different 5 star dealers plenty of times for the problem but they always say it is fine. An outside shop said they find nothing wrong with it. Just want to know if any one has any ideas about what is going on with it? The truck now only has about 40000 miles on it.

Dude, I have the same problem. does the rear end jerk at all with yours? I already had my transmission rebuilt and rearend rebuilt under warranty. less than 20k later it gave out again and I am not under warranty anymore. Do you think there is some type of labor warranty on the rebuild. my dad is going down there on wednesday to go bitch at them for doing such a bad job.

Yeah it does jerk after it's all warmed up. Everyone says there is nothing wrong with it at all. Just is so weird.
