I plan on getting a lift and level it out , but the silver 20's had to go, are they ok looking?? I got them REAL cheap.....140.00 each, with 20 locking lugs.. later I will put more agressive tires, the difference of my 99's wheels is amazing :)

The 09 has silver painted rims, and I am changing them out, the wheels in the first picture, is a comparison of the 99 to the 09, just showing the difference

Well.talk about wishy--washy, I put the rims up to the truck for the last time, I dont like them, too busy for this old man, I am going to put them on Craigs list and trade for chrome "(PLASTIC") clad stock wheels, I just want something a little less BLING, shouldnt have bought them ,but oh well.........

Those wheels are very similar to the ones currently on my silver Tona. I had Earnhardt JR black chrome Tank wheels but the finish started peeling. I thought they were to blingy but everyone else says they like them............

Aint that the truth..WELLLLLLLLLL..the rims didnt sell ,I posted to Blackin about a trade but he is 4 hours away, I went to Discount tire, they WILL trade me for any of there rims that are priced the same,(AND THEY ARE GIVING ME RETAIL), so that is a good thing, I picked some out and then foud out they were 8.5 instead of 9", and later I will be buying larger tires, so I didnt get them,so I go today again to see different ones, unless Blackin and I work out something, do you think it is dumb to get the clad ones instead of all metal chrome ones?,

Lots of folks hate the clad ones. I was never sure why. There is lots of plastic on these trucks---what's a little more???

They are easy to keep clean. But most swap them to be different. My factory clads with bald tires are going back on before I trade it.

OK heres a problem , the wheels I like are only in 8.5 or 10 inches, mine being 9 inches, I know how to read a ruler, but are there any problems going with 10 inch rims on our trucks, with stock suspension, 2wd

Trust me Bro, I'm not an expert on this stuff. I couldn't even get an answer from the dealer as to the dimensions for the 4th gen factory wheels.......

The aftermarket wheels I have are 5x5.5 bolt pattern; 4.25 hub; +18 offset; 20 X 8.5 wheel. I was told by a 4th gen owner that they will fit the new truck.

As far as 10" wide I must assume it would depend on the offset. Not enough and they will rub, too much and they will stick out too far (perhaps).

Getting info was very frustrating--------:banghead:

Hopefully someone else is more informed than I. Good luck.

Man you are so right.... I thought I wasnt picky but these things are all starting to look the same..... (IAM TRYING TO FIND FLAT 5 STAR RIMS THAT DONT LOOK too WILD)...2 new rims from Liquid come in 20x9 for our trucks, Dyno and Coil
here are the wheels LIQUID COIL FIRST

I like the top one, but it ain't my truck.......;)

BULLRAM
08-07-2009, 12:14 PM
That is the one I picked.......the other ones all come in 8.5, man I cant get that out of my head, if I want bigger tires , I am stuck, if I get the 9's it will be fine

Blackin

If those bottom ones weren't angled right there at the lip, I'd really like those.

BULLRAM

We think about the same, I was wondering how strong those are??, looks like it could break right there?

BULLRAM
08-11-2009, 10:42 AM
OK. I picked the wheels....i got the liquid Metal Coil, they look great, but I am still wanting to trade for OEM, chrome clad 09 dodge ram wheels, the 5 star, I realize that the new wheels are better, I just like OEM stuff, sooooo, if any body is taking theirs off and wants aftermarket rims, let me know in Texas, near Houston, if not I will just put them on.

Alcoa has some kind teck finish to their wheels that help pevent mud and dirt sticking to them.

Seen them on a show called TruckU, and they took a hand full of mud and dropped it on wheel and mud just ran off leaving very little behind.

Did you say that Discount Tire was willing to trade your Factory wheels for Aftermarkets? What was the retail price on our Silver 20" 5 Spokes? I believe I have the same wheels/tires as you. I'd love to do this. Hook me up with that Discount Tire store here in houston.

No I bought the V-drive first wheels from there warehouse, and they are going to trade me for something else I liked, didnt have to return them to the warehouse, so they are willing to help.

where are you located? I might be willing to work a deal to trade my crome clad rims

joePA

I'm just getting prices on the TPMS stems for my 20X8.5 American Racing rims from the traded '05 Tona. I put the factory wheels and bald tires back on for the trade.

Think I'll throw them on the new ride sometimes. Dealer was talking almost $40 per stem. Sure I can do better with some other contacts I have. Selling the rims and tires is a PITA. Too hard to ship and the tires are barely used.

And I saw the Alcoa rims on an '08 SuperBee. Think they were factory on some models. Man, they were SWEET.

I traded my rims..and got the chrome clads, thanks for the offer, I like how easy they wash up.
