Is any other person having Trouble with the Power Locks? Mine are going up and down all by themselves. Sometimes it's goes up and down very fast and Minutes at a time, then stop, then start up again. I'll go shopping just to find out when I return to the Van, the Doors are unlocked. When I open the Door, the Locks will lock themselves right away. There is not a Keyless Installed on this Model. I Replaced the Battery and Disconnected the Switches on both side on the Doors, but Still they Lock and Unlock. Someone, PLEASE HELP :rck: :help:

I once had a similar problem on my 1994 Ram conversion van. Power locks went up and down on their own, and would not stop trying to go up and down until I pulled the fuse. It took me months to realize that, back in the cargo area, there was a power lock switch mounted on the side wall of the van, a convenience feature so you could lock all locks after unloading cargo. Any time cargo shifted and leaned up against it, it was actuating this switch repeatedly. Short of removing the switch in the cargo area, there is no real solution to this problem other than to pack cargo more carefully. But at least I knew where to look when the problem arose.

If your Caravan has a similar switch, I'd look there.

Now, my 1996 Chrysler Town & Country has had power lock problems. But mainly it is individual locks that don't lock or unlock when I use the remote key fob. The Consumers Guide website, in its description of trouble spots on 1996-00 ChryCo minivans, cites problems locking or unlocking sliding door and liftgate locks, both manually or electrically, but offers no solutions and says nothing about any service bulletins.

I posted a note on this message board, and someone suggested checking the connectors which are supposed to be behind the kick panel near the driver's feet, and make sure they are snug. I have yet to try this, but somehow this just doesn't sound like if fits what I'm experiencing.

I also have a friend who told me that if I took the van to a bigger dealership, they had some sort of diagnostic computer that could tap into your body control module and tell you where any faults were with things like power locks, power windows and such. When I'm ready to fork out the bucks, that may be my best option -- and yours as well.

Good luck

Do you have some sort of remote starter or aftermarket door lock remote wired in?

Could be a bad switch as well or a faulty body computer but the switches and lock relays usually fail in one direction(lock or unlock) not both so I would guess there is something wired into the system that is faulty.
