I towed my 64 Chevy C-10+my trailer+misc crap (5500lbs), from central texas to Norfolk Virginia (1500 miles) with my 09 with the 4.7L. I must say I am really impressed. Handled the hills just fine, I was able to pass vehicles going from 70-80 up some pretty steep hills. I averaged between 12 and 13 MPG. Only complaints were I thought the rear saged alot, way more than my wifes Toyota Sequia(how ever you spell it) and braking in the rain is hell.
I wonder what I'm going to do when I lower it, hopefully the bag inserts help. Has anyone towed with there lowered 09's?

the braking probally has something to do with not having trailer brakes ..unless you do then you might have to adjust the gain on it

I take it you have 17's on the ST rather than the 20's, just curious as that ups your towing capicity by about 1000 lbs...........HD

Bags in the coils are a little different than air sleeves or bellows. The bags in the coils only can take about 35 psi where the sleeves take 100 psi. I have had sleeves on 3 different Rams and loved them. I could fill the bed with a ton of bricks and it'd still sit level. (no, I never put that much in it, but close!)
I am hoping the bags in the coils will help as I am also doing the lowering deal eventually.
