Ok I have this problem. My car does not want to idle right. It runs fine other than at idle,I put new plugs and wires, and used a whole can of ether looking for a vacume leak. Nothing happend. I think maybe the idle air controll, but it dont show up on the computer, It would surely set off the check engine light wouldnt it.Well I hope someone can help me out here. Oh yeah the A/C and the defrost cause my idle to run high sometimes.Whats up with that? PEACE!

how many miles.... have you thought about checking out your fuel injectors... this can cause rough idle if they are gummed up/ not atomizing the fuel correctly

Zeus Good call on the Fuel Injectors, thats what I was thinking also cuase I had that problem before with a freinds Neon and we changed them ot OEM Replacements and it solved the problem

That sounds like a good place to look! Should I get a bigger set of injectors,How big would I be able to go without having to buy a high pressure fuel pump? I hate not to upgrade if I can do it for about the same cost of OEM.Like the stock computer for a 98 acr was around 7oo bucks the mopar perfomance computer was 265 dollars. What is up with that? thanks fellas.

see this is where you got me.... hopefully tunerneon can answer that one but i would defiently look for upgraded injectors if i was you, i just went to aftermarket accel's that flow 24lb instead of stock 19's and get better gas milage (go figure)

My bet is on the O2 sensor

they say you need to change some needle valve and a spring of some sorts to get the accel24 lb injectors to produce the hp right. What is all that about but any how did you notice a difference with the new injectors.
BlueSXT says O2 sensor. My question is this which one? And wouldnt An O2 sensor set off the engine codes?I know the downstream O2 sensor in my exhaust is reading on my check engine light becouse the cat is gutted. That wouldnt make it seem to miss would it.Like I say It runs great impresive even when it isnt sitting still. I apreciate the feedback ya all . PEACE!

Stay with the stock injectors. There's no need for larger injectors with your set up. I've currently got almost every bolt-on and am getting ready to drop on a p&p and milled head with Crane #18s (once it gets here) and I'm staying with the stock injectors. I will be using a S-AFC to pull some fuel at idle and low rpms because of the #18s' overlap and my A/FX-R PCM.
Is your EGR still connected? When's the last time you ran a can of Mopar CCC through the car?

Ok fella's I have not done nothing to the car but have had no problem with the idle in a week or so.I think maybe i got some bad gas.Is that a posibility ya think? Maybe someone pumped the wrong gas into the 93 tank and I got me some 87 or 89 when the computer needs a 92 or better.Well I will keep yall posteed if she acts up again. Later thanks for the feedback.

I have a 2000 neon and after you start the engine, the car starts to ding and where the mileage is it starts to show fuse across it, it does this about 4 or 5 times then it stops. I have checked all the fuses and none of them are blown. What could be the problem? any info would be gladly appreciated.

Hey Buster I am not sure what you mean by the mileage meter is showing a fuse across it. The ding is probably the seat belt dinger, they are pesky.I am just not sure what you are seeing here.Is it telling you there is a fuse bad with the check engine light or is there a picture of a fuse lit up on the insrtument cluster.

what it is doing is where it has digital mileage, the mileage disappears and it spells out fuse and then it goes back to mileage, It does this about 5 or 6 times then it stops, I have checked all the fuses even the ones underneath the hood and none of them seem to be blowed. If I cant figure it out I guess I will have to take it to the dealer and let them mess with it, that being the last resort. Thanks for all your info, :help:

it sounds like the fuel pump relay buster. its under your hood in your distributor center. if u have a volt meter check it if not find someone that does.

I would have to say to start with the basics. Replace your fuel filter, not that expensive. Then run some fuel injector cleaner through it. Once that is done you preaty much konw its not a fuel problem. Then its on to sensors. TPS is probably the most likely.
