Driver side power window

I've been looking for a Van for a few months. the only one I test drove so far was a pretty ragged '88. The driver side window didn't want to stay up.

I found another one I'm going to look at this weekend and the add says the drivers side window is inoperable.

Is this a common problem, both are '88's. And is it an easy fix? I'm guessing I would have to take the door apart and put some new tracks or something in.

No it's not a common problem. An 88 is 21 years old and that's a lot of ups and downs for a window in that time period. The driver's window obviously gets a lot more use than the passenger side, so it only makes sense for it to wear out first.
