97 Avenger, 2.0 Litre, 5 Speed-Manual, 85K Miles

I went in for a regular oil change and part of their routine maintenance, they asked me when was the last time I changed manula trans oil. I never did and they inspected it and suggested that I replace it. I did and from the next day on, I noticed that it was not shifting easily to gears 2 and 3. This was happening when the engine was cold and once it is warm, it would shift with out any problems. I took it back and they said my clutch needs to be replaced. Is it coincidence (that my clutch is ready to die) since I did not have this problem with the original trans oil? :help:

you might need a new clutch....take it in if you want to know the problem but i would check the clutch out to see if thats it...

I would suspect they either put in heavier lube and it needs time to warm and thin out a little. You more than likely have this problem, evey stick I have ever owned has done this to some extent. It just may go away in a week when the oil gets a little more worn in.
