RB1 in 1999 3500

Normally I lurk on the Ram P/U areas due to having a 04 QC Hemi truck, so bear with me.

My son is buying a 1999 3500 15 pax conversion Ram Van. Has anyone here installed the RB1 Nav/stereo in a '99 van? I put on in the truck and enjoy it and am considering picking one up for him. Research indicates it needs a $10 wiring harness adapter plug kit to update the rear wiring plugs.

No I have not installed or used one.

Overall the installation should be very similar to the pickup. May have to adjust the unit if it has a fold out display to clear the top of the dash.

On my van I changed the factory radio to a old digital Jenson unit I had in the shop.

If you need the factory wiring schematic let me know and I will post it up for you.

RB1 needs the proper BCM to work. Won't work properly in that year van without some modifications

Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure when/what year they started using the BCM in the vans. Also the factory unit isn't the rounded corner style, which also was a clue.
