2004 SRT-4 Trouble codes?

is there a way to pull these myself? when i start the car the Service Engine Soon light is on and i hear a ding. i am taking my car on a 750 miles one way trip tomorrow.... Could someone PLEASE help me?

Try turning the key on-off 3 or 4 times quickly if i remember correctly and then in your odometer screen should pop up the code #'s
