Does any one know what lamp is used for auto indicator on 78 tilt column? All I can find is for non tilt column.
Thanks

Yogi,
I have repaced mine, but I can't recall with what -- and the '77 - '78 service manuals aren't telling. Let me check around and get back to you if I can find the number. It isn't anything exotic; the tilt columns were, after all, sourced from Saginaw (GM).

Mark,
Sorry; the bulb is a T363. I just went out and pulled the one out of my own tilt column quadrant to see what it was. It wears a blue "bulb condom" to make it blend with the other instrument lamps.
BTW, if anybody has a spare black plastic "PRND21" indicator for the tilt column sitting around, I broke mine the last time I had it off and noticed today that the glue job isn't really holding up very well . . .

I have a 79 Adventurer parts truck with a tilt column I'll check to see if it has a gear indicator on it, although the truck is two hours away so the soonest that I will be around it will be two weeks. If you find one before then let me know.

I also had to glue mine together. Hope it holds. I'd also be interested in a PRND21 indicator if any one else has one.

I'm putting a tilt column out of a 79 PW in my 77. The adapter for ignition cable is for 79 style wire harness. The 77 ignition switch supplied 12 volts to the ballast resistor to start. On the 79 it is supplied from starter relay. They use different starter relays. My questing is should I supply 12 volts to resistor from solenoid pin on relay or 12 volts from wire on switch that activates start on relay?
Thanks

Yes, that should work. J9 is the start circuit and bypasses the resistor during start only. Your idea should give you a full 12volts(or battery voltage) at the coil.

The glue didn't hold on my Gear Shift Indicator housing. Could use lens and housing but really need housing. If anyone has extra I would appreciate it...
