would the 80's beds match the 70's cab's contours? i know the 80's beds have an extra body line but doesnt that fade away at the front of the bed?
would this just look
how about the 80's grills if i had the lower valance with it?

i happen to have a late 80's bed on my 78 and it looks ok to me. now if i remember correctly, the front fenders would also have to be changed because of the lower front corner is different. but i don't have the different fenders here to compare.

Beds fit fine, look pretty good too. I'm not sure about the grilles but I think they fit.

From what I was told, the 80s fenders are different and to use that grille, you would need to swap fenders.

At one time, because I was having a really hard time finding a good quad-headlight grill for my 79', I was considering changing over to an 80's front end (You can still buy new grilles/headlight doors/etc) ... I got a headlight door from the junk yard and held it up to the 70's fender, and there is just no way. The 80's fender is much more squared off. You'd have to get new(er) fenders, lower valance, and maybe a new(er) rad support, as the head light baskets are different and as well as mounting holes for the grille/headlight doors/etc ... about the only thing left you could use the 'old' one of, is the hood. And consider, the body lines on the newer fenders won't match the doors ... So there's more to be changed then (To look right, anyway.. ;) )

if i got this right, here is a pic of my 78 Powerwagon. you can see the body line of the 80's style but it blends ok with the rest of the truck.

that bed looks good to me! opens the possibilities for me to find a new bed.
guess i wont be trying to put the 80's front end on, as i have a crew cab and the rear door wouldnt match up with the font doors.or am i seeing that the body line dissapears on the rear of the doors on the 80's?
