I have a 1987 D150 pickup. I have a tire size of 225 on four wheels. I have to replace 1 tire that is bad. Can I down size to 215 on one axle without a problem? I am asking this question because I have several pretty good tires that are 205's with 6-7/32 inch tread that I would like to use in the future, when the other 225's wear out. (This means the shed will get cleaned out)Also the current thought on tire rotation is to keep the rights on the right, etc. or the left front to right rear, etc? I do use the truck on the highway and local driving. All tires involved are radials.

205s are quite a bit smaller (shorter) but there were lots of bae model ones that came that way; It would "work, just put the 225s out back and the 205s on front; and on tires made after ~'88ish it is not necessary to keep the tires on the same side (rotation going the same) as they started out new; That said check the tires close for dry rot especially if theyve been sitting before you mount them or you might be asking for a blow out!

I agree keep the wider ones on the back. I d look for a set of cheap/used ones myself such as some 31's i had given to me. Any way thats my 2cents
