Ok here's my situation my '77 has lots of trimhttp://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp13/sleeper1500/DSCN0359.jpg
and I need to replace some panels, aftermarket panels don't come with the ''nubs'' that holds the trim on (as you all know), so is there a solution. And getting rid of the trim isn't an option.

You can go about it a couple different ways. Easiest and cheapest way would be to rivet the plastic clips on with small rivets, that is after you map it out. The way to do it to match factory would be to use this

it welds the stud on to attach the clips to.

3M makes a retarded sticky two sided tape. As in when the tape is on with part, the only way to remove is by damn near destroying the part. I would use this over any method that involves drilling holes in to your freshly sealed and painted panels/ parts causing more rust in the future.

Most of the metal trim has to deep of a hollow area to use two sided tape you would have to put four or more layers of tape to get it thick enough. Always fit, drill, attach mounting tabs before any, sealer paint is applied.

Nothing against it, but I have a problem with just sticking things to my truck, seeing all those cheesy hood scoops and window visors falling off after a while. I'll talk to some local body guys see if they can do the stud-gun method, I don't need the 500$ tool for one truck. Body work on this thing is a while away anyways

The only way I can think of would be to use side cutters to cut them off then use a angle grinder to smooth them you will have to be carefull and every spot will have o be touched up.

86,
Try these guys:

It is possible that they may have a solution which involves fasteners which snap into holes rather than welding studs onto the new sheetmetal.
Just be sure to drill the holes before you paint . . .
