A-833 4-spd would be the easiest, after that would be a NP-535 or AX-15 5-spd ( I have the 535 in mine) which requires a hydraulic clutch conversion and custom driveshaft, after that is the Tremec 3550 or TKO 5-spd, Toyota R154 5-spd, or Tremec T-56 6-spd, all of which run around 500-2000 bucks depending on condition and whether new or used, and require more custom parts such bellhousings, clutch setups, crossmember etc.

hmmmm, sounds like the A 833 is the best solution for a guy with limited funds, or perhaps jusr regear the rear really high. that would give me better highway rpm's too, no? still debating just shoving a 727 in there also.

A 727 still has a 1:1 on final drive so it wouldn't be any better for the money and time spent to do it.

The 833 or rear end change is the best (easiest) option. You will need a 10.5" flywheel/clutch, bellhousing and some minor tunnel mods to make it happen. That way you can keep your rear gear.

Seems as the 833 has a 1:1 ratio as well, unless it was the overdrive version. so no matter what the rear gears would proboably be the easiest for me, and the cheapest.

Yeah gears make a big difference. What size tires are you running? Larger tires act like a taller gear, can net you a few more mpg. Will make the speedo read a bit low though unless you change the speedo gear.

the tires right now are 31", but next year i will be getting new shorter tires so the rear gears are best because i cant afford no $3000 overdrive:bawl:
