I have a 1974 dodge D100 with a 360. I am not getting any spark. I have replaced the spark plugs, ballast resister, electronic ignition module, coil and coil pickup in the distributor and still no spark. I have power going to the coil and can not figure out why I still cannot get any spark. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That is the exact same thing with my truck!

Its been at a shop for 4 weeks...

Do the wires look cracked?

Do you have enough volts going to the coil while your trying to start?

did you check the ground on the coil? it can be getting good power to it but if not grounded its useless... to check a ground use your volt reader and put the + on the negative and your - grounded on metal

( i think thats how to check it.. somebody can tell me if I'm wrong though)

did you guys check the air gap in your distributors, also did you check to see if the your engines are at TDC comresion stroke when the rotor is pointing to the #1 plug wire? I have had problems with the distributor in the past on my older trucks, make sure your wires are good going into and on the inside of the distributor, check for grounds or shorts.

I would also check the ignition block thats attached to the stearing colum, I can't remember if the 74's had them, but I figured I would throw that out to you guys, plus I don't know if you guys have tryied/checked out the starter relay on them, if those go bad your truck will crank but not fire up. Good luck guys

Make sure the engine is grounded to the chassis, the little wire from the negative battery terminal usually does this but sometimes the connection needs to be cleaned, or the wire breaks, etc.

hmmm, no spark , just where exactly? do you get spark coming out of the coil? Make sure you set the reluctor gap in dist to .006"-.008" otherwise it will not fire. You will have spark coming out of coil, but none at the plug wires, check it! :D oh and you MUST use a brass feeler gauge to set reluctor gap. And don't set it so tight that the feeler gauge binds in gap. You can use a regular metal feeler gauge but it is much harder and will be difficult to set right as it will act "sticky"
