i have no idea what wheel width or backspacing is required for a 3/4 ton that will be lowered. i see alot of 1/2 ton trucks on here running 20's and want to do the same. anybody know?

because stock SUCKS!
EDIT- after seeing pics of ramblebee's truck, think i will go with 17 or 18" rims. still wondering on the width and backspacing though.

while I can agree with you about "stock sucks" sometimes; theres alot you can do with a truck than the ol' cliche' "lower it and put huge rims with stiff, little-to-no sidewall tires on there;

ok i was a little blunt. almost every vehicle ive ever owned has been whithin 12" or less of the ground, a couple trucks included. its my passion to have a nice street vehicle, truck or not. ive talked myself outta the huge blinging rims, but still want a lowered vehicle. i do not want to run my black 16.5" steelies either.
fair nuff?

As to being one that has grown up during the old school years of lowered trucks... Lowering them just an inch or two is ok in my eyes, but going beyond that is just... I don't know :crazy:

Here is a picture of my lowered truck its 6" in back and 4 in front. I like the look of lowered trucks.
That looks damn good, what did you do to lower it that much?

I guess it all matters how you grow up...I was always taught to jack em up lol...:gr_patrio
I guess lowered trucks dont look all that bad to me...but the "slammed" stuff kills me personally lol...

I did a axle flip in the rear, very simple just put axle on top of spring buy new spring perch, find shock mounts out of chrysler car that has axle on top of spring. I used a set out of a 70 duster.
The front I used Dakota 2" drop spindles and lower control arms that give two inches of drop, and new factory uncut V8 coil springs. The arms and springs come from Mid America Customs. The truck aligned and drives like a new truck.

I do have a V8 so I wouldn't need new springs correct?

My truck started out as a sixer so I upgraded the springs. You don't have to cange the springs but they are cheap enough.
