;):):):)I would apreciate comments on what brand you bought and how they fared in fit and durability, and also on the amount of times you had to address flange gasket 'blow-out' and rplacement and the aftermaket gaskets best suited to long life and fit. Also......did you have the header flanges surfaced prior to instalation and was that procedure worthwile?:):);)

I considered headers for my 84 van,than i remembered all my friends and their header leaks.i was told headers only come into their own after a higher RPM so their benefit on a van is about nill.i have seen short tube manifolds,kinda looks like a short header.i think a fresh set of manifolds if needed,and larger than stock dual exhaust with a cross over tube would be a better choice.

Yep, shorty headers are they way to go. They bolt up in place of the stock manifolds and require no modification to the rest of the exhaust system.
