It was the 80s. Everybody had a mullet. And yes, it's a good song. Joe had a pretty good run of good songs back then.

Actually that song (According to Wikipedia) was released in 94' .... And no everybody didn't have a mullet. I've never had one. I'd shave my head, before I looked like a french poodle.... ;) :D

Well, for MOST of us... the good thing about hair is, you can screw up, but get the chance to start all over ... not like chopping off a finger or something ;D
Although, I gotta say ... To me... When I see someone who STILL has a mullet these days... Mullet=Retard ;) (Or Joey ... Take your pick :D )
I went through the long-hair thing in the 70's ... More trouble than it's worth.
Ever notice how women, when they're young, how their long flowing glowing perfectly-cut hair is SO very important? Then they have a kid or two... And they get that 'Mom Haircut'?? :D

I just plain don't give a crap about my hair anymore :D I just let it grow till it aggravates me (ie when it gets long enough to get in my eyes) then buzz it all off again, leave it about a half-inch long.
And for some reason, I associate mullets w/ Camaros... lol :D
