what gaskets do you guys use? any to avoid? My Mr Gaskets (std "white" ones not Ultra seals) did not last but 1500 miles; (OK; the pass side blew; driver side still good) are copper ones worth it? $42 Remflexes? What about "re useability" (is that a word?) like in case I gotta pull one to change a starter? these were brand new Hooker Super Comps when I installed them; not used/"previuously warped". I bought a high priced set (wont say yet whether I got the Remflex's or the copper ones) and swapped out the pass side today; gonna wait on the driver side til; (1) the driver side one blows out or (2) the starter goes bad to replace the drivers side one.
I've had cheapie ones that had trouble sealing before ("eagle"/blackjacks) on a Cordoba; I had to tun 2 "stacked" Ultra seals on the pass side in that car

I've also had more costly Dynomax's that sealed great 1st time, but scraped at every slight rise in the road or bump; on a Diplomat
Black jack "alum-a-coats" that sealed well and didn't drag; (that was on a ramcharger)
this is the 1st time I've used Hooker headers; these are super Comps; they are the best fitting of the ones I have installed; they also tuck up nice and tight to the floorboards; but this is a 3/4 ton pickup that has room for them to hang a bit if needed be; unlike that Diplomat. but I am NOT gonna stand for replacing header gaskets every 1500 mi like I did on that Cordoba.

Originally I put these on the truck with OE-style Fel Pro MANIFOLD gaskets but being they are HEADERS I had doubts as to how well that setup would hold up; so not leaking or anything but I swapped them out for the Mr Gaskets; something tells me I shoulda left the manifold gaskets alone to see just how they would work;

What do you guys think?

It's been a long time since I've messed with headers, but the last time I used Mr. Gasket and one started to leak... I don't know if they still make them, but at the time Mr. Gasket made 'thicker' gaskets that I used and had no probs after that.

I always use aluminum (double laminated) gaskets. They work and are reuseable. I've heard copper works well also. Are you using the cheap paper style?
