My rear licence plate lights are corroded and no longer work on my 84 crew cab. As far as I can tell its the factory rear bumper. The lights have Dodge markings on them.

I checked the dealership and Dodge doesn't make them anymore.

Anyone know if Napa makes one that fits?

Or where can I get ones that fit?

I do most of my driving late at night (work nights) and the local fuzz just loves to pull you over for silly things like non-functioning license plate lights. :D

Check out the parts houses. Most of them do have replacement lights.
Does yours push in or do they screw in?

Yeah, if they're the kinda 'dome' shaped one ... Where one half is 'lense' and the other half is metal ... and they just snap into about a 1 1/2" hole....
any parts store should have those.

Thats the tricky part.

Mine are the "dome" style, but they have two screws, one on each side of the dome to screw into the bumper.

They aren't the common push in style.

And they take replacement bulbs, but are so corroded/rusty that the bulbs are stuck in place.

Mmmmm .... Well, I guess I'd start looking to make something else work then...
They make aftermarket kits with a license plate bracket with a light on top.. But not sure if the tailgate might hit it... Might be time to be 'inventive' .. :D

I would say, disconnect the battery. Get some spray to loosen it up and some needle nose pliers and yank that baby out of there. :D

Yup .... I've busted the glass on bulbs before and with a pair of needle-nose un-twisted the base of the bulb ...
K-D tools makes (At least I think they still do) a wire brush on a handle to clean out the socket ... Ground and contacts .... Kinda' like a battery terminal brush..
Maybe you can repair the socket without having to replace it ... If you can do that, Replace the bulb (Natch :D ) and fill the cleaned-out socket with di-electric grease (Silicone based) ... That should keep the socket good/clean for many years.

Sadly I think the bulbs and sockets have become one.

But I'll give it a shot.

I'll probably look into getting the push in style and enlarging the hole.

I'm shocked no one has cornered the 1st gen Dodge pickup license plate light market.

I need em for my 83 as well; I think I'm gonna add them to my list of things to look at in the junkyards but I know finding good ones is a slim chance there; the ones the OP needs have the #194 push in bulbs (I think) like dashboard light bulbs not the twist ins like a 94-1156-1141 type. I looked at the aftermarket ones available and using like a truck like a truck I can see them getting busted too easily/often since they "stick out" so far.
