well the starter relay i got at autozone which was only one they had for my 86 dodge d150 318 looks like this

but the old one int he truck has a tab where the bolt is
my question is should it work the same as long as i connect same wires

Keep in mind that the terminal marked bat is aconnection for the battery terminals and carrys alot of current... The relay pictured was used starting in ~74 when EGR was used so I would look up one in that era.
Just some info...When I restored my '73 a few years ago, I decided to replace the starter relay only to dress up the underhood area. The old one was the original and looked nasty. I went through two new NAPA relays in two weeks before I got smart and told them where they could put their Chinese made junk.
I cleaned up the old American made Mopar relay and it's still going strong. If it was me, I'd get an OEM part from the dealer, a NOS supplier, or if appearance isn't important, a junk yard.

im just trying to get the truck to start again so i can sell it
electrical is such a pain tho
