My yongest son's Olds Bravada (Same stinkin' thing as a Blazer, just with more bells n' whistles) the engine decided to grenade on him this week.
(This is on a remfg'd with about 30 grand on it)

So I'm happy to say that, that was THE LAST STINKIN' CHEBBIE I'LL EVER OWN!!
I bought him a 98 Caravan with 88,000 miles and everything works perfectly.
Glad I won't have to worry about that stuff anymore.

No, just transmissions that like to go ka-put and paint that looks like a third degree sun burn.

Actually, it's white and the paint is perfect ... And the PO knew about putting +4 ATF in the trans... ;)

A Bravada to a Caravan... I don't know which one is worse!

Well, a Caravan isn't a Chebbie ... And it isn't a Furd. So I see this as nothing but a good thing.

Nothing wrong with driving a minivan. It's kinda like having a truck. My dearly departed uncle said, "If you have a truck for a while, and then start driving a car, it won't be long before you want another truck."

My wife sold her van after our kids got into school. And very few days go by without her telling me about how much she misses it.

Minivans are nice for a lot of reasons. When you get used to those reasons, it's hard to accept anything that can't compete.

I think Caravans don't get their 'due' actually.... Yeah they've had their problems (Like any other make) but if you're aware of them, you can usually make them a non-factor.
But I bought another one for these reasons:
It has the 3.3 which is a great little engine.. I've seen guys get 300,000 miles out of them, no prob.
My oldest son has a Caravan (Which he loves) so I pretty much know them inside-out.
It's got more creature-comforts bells/whistles than even some of the newer rigs these days, and the seats are really comfy (At least to my butt :D )
Good mpg. 5 mpg better than the (RIP) Bravada.
It's a van... Room to haul around music gear and when he goes off to college this fall room to haul his stuff back and forth.
Parts are easy to get.
Nobody steals Caravans.

Even though he's 18, he's not real concerned about 'cool'... Hell, he was fine with a Bravada, of all things ... So this is only a step up. Besides, 'Beggars can't be Choosers' ... ;)

Hahaha!! Well, if it turns out anything like my oldest son...
When he started WSU, he made his circle of friends ...NONE of whom had a rig at campus ... Except for him.
So even though it was a pukey-soccer-mom-mobile ... He became very popular real quick :D
