I have a 96 van that has a 360. While driving down the road it just died. Now it just cranks. No spark or fuel. I have tried the computer on another dodge and it works fine. I also tried a different crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor both with no effect. i also tried changing out the autoshut down relay with a different on. Still no spark or fuel. Any ideas on what it could be?

If your gas tank is less than half full, try filling it up with gas and if it starts then you'll know you have to replace the fuel pump in the tank. I had that in my 96 B2500 a few years ago.

When you turn the key to the 'on' position do you hear the fuel pump? It should run for about 2 to 3 seconds. If no sound then check that the relay is not bad, then check for power and ground at the tank. Could be pump is out.

Also check that all the fuses esp. the PCM fuse is still good.

Check to see if the #1 fuse under the hood is blown. That one supplies power to both the ASD and fuel pump relays.

the fuel pump is not turning on when the key is. but would a faulty fuel pump cause it not to spark? also what stumps me is why there is no check engine light coming on when i first turn the key

Check to see if the #1 fuse under the hood is blown. That one supplies power TO BOTH the ASD and FUEL PUMP RELAYS.

No fuel pump power=no fuel flow. No power to the ASD=no spark or CEL.

I had the same problem with a 94 b2500 318. I tried for 3 months to fix. I replaced everything from the PCM, coil, ADS nothing. Theirs and in line fuse in the wiring harness up next to the firewall.

Yes on BAMAVAN's van it was that in-line fuse.

Under the hood near or behind the power brake booster if I remember correctly about his van.

i looked around the brake booster with no luck not sure if mine has a fuse there. its a 96 do you think it would. also what kind of fuse is it.

Check fuse number 8 in the PDC (Power Distribution Center, under hood fuse box). If needed switch it with another fuse with the same rating. That fuse controls the PCM, ASD, and Fuel Pump relays.

Also check the internal dash fuses by the glove box, fuse number 19 is a 10 amp fuse. It connects to pin A-2 on the PCM, which is the Lite Green/Black stripe wire.

This information is from my Mitchell On Demand program.

Probably some corrosion on the electrical connections. You can take each fuse out and apply some dielectric grease and that should help.
