Just finished installing my Mufflex 18" single in/single out on my SLT QC Hemi. Good sound outside the truck. A definite increase in cabin noise but nothing too obnoxious. No noticeable drone to speak of at any speed that I could detect even with MDS engaged. I would not want it even one db louder inside the truck. Overall I like the sound. Deep and throaty. Not raspy at all. What I wasn't prepared for was the loss of power I experienced through the butt dyno.
Anyone else experience a loss of power after installing one these mufflers? Maybe the computer just needs time to adjust to the freer flowing exhaust...
I'm leaving it on for at least 800-1000 miles or so and see what happens. It probably doesn't help that I have the 3.21 gears (ugh). But I could swear the truck was quicker with the stock muffler...
I also installed a drop-in K&N at the same time... Maybe it's just too much for computer to handle...

You should reset your computer after doing performance upgrades. It helps it learn the new equipment quicker. Also get some posts done and show some pics. We love them.

Took your advice and reset the computer.... MAJOR difference! Feels stronger now than it did before the Mufflex install. Could just be all that sweet Hemi music I'm hearing now though!
Thanks for the advice. Anyone installing one of these mufflers/intakes/filters, make sure you pull the battery cable for about 5 minutes to allow the computer to reset....

What's the process of resetting the computer?
My 18" Magnaflow gets here Monday, I can't wait.

Just pull one of the battery cables (I chose the negative cause it was easy), let it sit about 5 min and hook it back up. Matter of fact, pull the cable before you start the Mufflex install and hook it back up when your done...

I take it the 18 is the moderate? I wonder how the agressive is. Did you get the loss of power straight? I am thinking of doing the same thind but want see what others are experiencing before I do.

Installed mine tuesday and there was no noticeable loss of power. I think it's a mental thing honestly, it gets up and goes just as quick as it ever did and the 18" muffler screams. At cruising speed there is zero drone compared to a flowmaster. It's not much louder then stock and most of the time you can't hear it over the radio unless you get on it. I couldn't be happier with it.
