I have a 2002 Ram Van 1500/3.9 and from experience with other cars. I was wondering when you put the A/C on and select A/C MAX I thought the blower motor start blowing harder or does it just recycle the air? I probably have to clean the evaporator box and maybe need a charge. It was about 80 degrees out and I thought the van should of cool down after a 15 minute ride. Any thought?

On MAX it just recycles the air, it does not blow harder. Due to the size of the cargo area, it takes about 1/2 hour to cool down the inside air.

Max A/c= what most newer cars now label as "recirc" or "recirculate". (does just that, less "fresh" outside air mixed in. Some cars call what yours is just labeled as regular "A/C" as "fresh". (bigger % of outside air blended in)

When I turn on the air or heat the blower motor wasn't blowing strong. When ever you turned it on, it made a little whistle noise. So I went to look under the dash and found that the returned was cover by plastic and the carpet. So whoever did the conversion covered the return. So I fix it and it is blowing 500 times better.
