Srt 8 !!

I just read in the latest Motor Trend that at the begining of 05 Chrysler is coming out with a high performance 300C called the SRT 8 .

I know what your thinking. That was what they first called the Magnum!

They are increasing the displacement from 5.7 to 6.1 and claim 425 HP UNBLOWN!!

I guess I just can't win because I just purchase a 05 RT and I'll bet Dodge comes out with the same engine.
If I trade the RT in you know I'll take a bath in the trade. BUMMER!

Thanks for the info. Did the article say anything about it having MDS ? 'Cause if the mileage is reasonable and the cost not prohibitive, I may be waiting a while.

No, it didn't say but if they have it with 340 HP I can't see it not having it with 425 HP.
I was talking with Dave's tech and he said he understands that Dodge is going to put the 6.1 Hemi in the Charger that's coming out, not the Magnum.
So, who knows?

There will likely be a Magnum SRT-8 as well as a Charger SRT-8 within the next couple of years. Both will be powered by the 6.1-liter HEMI.

The specs for the 300C w/ 6.1L Hemi say no MDS. 14/19MPG (same as the 5.7L Hemi in the Durango).
