So I use my van primarily for going camping, and things of that nature. Well also a backup rig in case my commuter econo car takes a crap on me. Well the last time I took War Pony for a ride the ground was slick and I only spun one tire. So I decided then its time for a limited slip rear end. So my question is is there a truck or the sort around the same year in a 3/4 ton axel that I could swap in? thanks guys.

Just contact a local junkyard for a limited slip rearend and swap it out.

Not sure if a p/u truck rear axle is a direct swap or not. You'd need to measure backing plate to backing plate and center to center on the spring perches. I also believe that the rear shocks mount differently between a van and p/u.

A trick you can try when in the mud and snow with a slipping tire is to put the emergency/parking brake on just a little bit-enough to slow the spinning wheel and allow the torque to go to both wheels, once you get through the slick spot release the e/p brake completely.
