I think someone is messing with you. You turn it off with a scan tool.

Can you please tell me where to find the connector to scan it?

If you don't have one under the dash near the brake pedal. Then look for an L shaped one under the hood just below the wiper motor.

there is no 9 volt battery, you reset the light with a OBD 1 scan tool as stated above. or there is another method i heard, but never tried. here it is if you want to try it:

unhook the negetive (-) battery cable, and turn the key to the "start" position for like 25 seconds, and this is supposed the clear the computer and reset the check engine and maintenence lights.

like i said, i have never tried it, this is somthing i heard.

hope this helps

The Main't required light is not the same as a check engine light. The MRL was something Chrysler added to tell people that their emission system may need service. The MRL is triggered by a preset timer that is connected to the speedo. The timer is powered by a 9V battery inside a small white or yellow box under the dash next to the steering column. Once the timer is reset, the process starts all over again.
